When I needed to prep a PDF for bookbinding, most tools failed. They didn’t handle signatures — small folded sections that keep a book from falling apart.
So I built my own. This tool rearranges your PDF into printable signatures. Everything runs in your browser. No uploads. No tracking. Just a small utility that does one job well.
Booklet Maker
This tool rearranges your PDF pages into the correct order for printing and folding. It creates ready-to-print booklets directly in your browser, and your files are never uploaded.
How to Use
- Upload: Drag your PDF file into the application.
- Plan: Choose how many pages you want in each signature. The "Booklet Plan" will show you exactly how your file will be divided.
- Create: Click the "Create Booklet" button to download your ready-to-print PDF(s).
Printing Instructions
To print your booklet correctly, you must set your printer to print on both sides of the paper. The most important setting is the binding orientation.
In your printer's settings window:
- Select Print on Both Sides (or "Two-Sided").
- Choose the option to Flip on Short Edge.
For a standard portrait document, flipping on the short edge ensures the back pages are oriented correctly when you fold the paper. It's always a good idea to print just one signature first to make sure your settings are correct.
