A plaster lamp I created to test the concept for a design workshop at ECP School in Prague.
The goal isn’t the object itself, but the experience: sketch an idea, experiment, make mistakes, and try to recreate what you imagined using a limited set of materials. Students design and build their own lamps by hand, learning how an idea changes when it moves from paper to reality, and how constraints can support creativity.
Materials: 3V LED, 2×AA batteries, a simple switch, wire, wooden skewers, 3D-printed connectors, masking tape, aluminium, plaster, ping pong ball.

Workshop
The group brought a wide range of skills and approaches, which made the process especially interesting. Working within clear constraints, the students explored materials, experimented with form and structure, and found their own ways to make ideas work.
It was a focused, hands-on session and a genuinely rewarding experience to be part of.
