A workshop about a vehicle that draws while it drives.
In September I ran a workshop at a school in Prague. We were looking at how a vehicle can move and leave a trace at the same time.
Three questions did most of the work. How much a DC motor can actually pull. How to get the turning of the motor onto the wheel axle. And how to join the whole thing so that it survives the floor.
Every answer was different. Rubber band drives, chassis printed with a 3D pen, cardboard wheels of every diameter, a pencil hung so that it touches the paper under its own weight.
Every car below was built by the students.
