FLAC to MP3 converter

Converts .flac to .mp3, entirely in the browser.

I swapped my iPhone for a Nokia 105 with buttons, to see whether I could cut down everyday technology. The Nokia only takes a 32GB microSD card, so I started loading it with albums from Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Music with me and offline: no algorithms, no recommendations, only what I put there myself.

Most of my library is in .flac, which the old Nokia can’t read, and the converters I found asked for a sign-up or payment after a few tracks. This one converts five tracks at a time into the chosen quality and returns them individually or as a ZIP. Processing runs locally, files never leave the computer. I wrote it in ten minutes with Gemini — using artificial intelligence to be a little more offline.
