I found the Monoclelens in the perfect timing because I just had bought a Fuji X-E3 and I was looking for a lens. I wanted to be able to take pictures with an atypical look and without a post process. So I bought one to try (I mean for fiftyish bucks, I can give it a try!) and I was right to do so!
Combined with the different Fuji simulations, it’s exactly what I was looking for!
The atypical look is definitely there and I love it! Blurry but not too much for my artistic vision, just perfect. I’m using it just as much for my artistic project as for my vacations. I love it!
I love the fixed lens (I’m coming from a Fuji X100) because it forces me to move to be able to capture what I want. It’s a step further with the fixed f10 and I really like it. You have to embrace the grain and play with the depth of your composition, it’s so great for my creativity.
And jeez, what a look for your camera. I’ve got a lot of people asking me what this lens is. Plus, it’s so minimalistic, it’s always in my pocket.
I bought the Monoclelens with the idea to use it for fun and to buy a Fuji lens for my artistic work. It’s been almost a year and I haven’t wanted to buy a Fuji or any other lens and the Monoclelens has never left my camera.
