I collect used disposable cameras and give their lenses a new life as 3D-printed camera lenses. It’s a simple way to reuse something that would otherwise end up in landfill.
Monoclelens came out of wanting to make practical things at home and to find out how little it takes to photograph. No complexity, no perfectionism.
The photographs have the character of old disposable cameras. Soft, sometimes slightly out of focus, with gentle vignetting and surprising colours. They often feel more like a memory than an exact record. Every shot is a little unpredictable, and that’s where their charm is.
Versions gradually appeared for Fuji X, Sony E, Canon RF, Nikon Z and Micro 4/3 mounts.
